What do you get when you cross a pirate with a vampire? No… not DraculArrrr… but Justin Somper’s amazing series Vampirates! Coming to the Festival 1st July!

Speaking about his craft, author Justin Somper says “One of the things I most enjoy about writing is inventing and developing characters … breathing life into them.” Judging from his hugely successful back catalogue, we can only conclude that Justin particularly enjoys ‘breathing life into’ the darker elements of his characters.
Who better then to appear at a very special Manchester Children’s Book Festival event focussing on villains? On 1st July, Justin will be at the Moss Side Powerhouse Library to invoke dark forces from his hit, six-book sequence Vampirates. The first book in the series published in 2005 as part of a six-book deal with Simon & Schuster, Vampirates went on to be published in 25 languages and in 35 countries worldwide.
Since then, Justin has embarked upon a new project Allies and Assassins, which was published in the UK in September 2013, with a sequel released this year. The Manchester Children’s Book Festival event will give fans a chance to enjoy an up close and personal experience of Vampirates, as well as to be introduced to more villainous characters from Allies and Assassins.
Always engaging, Justin is passionate about communicating with his readers. He regularly blogs about his books and upcoming events, and many of his books’ characters have their own social media pages where fans can interact and ask them questions – even the villains!
So, beware! This event is not for the fainthearted. But if ye are brave enough, ye are promised a thrilling event, with plenty of bite!
Book tickets for the Justin Somper event here me hearties!
