MCBF at the Manchester Mega Mela

On Saturday 21st June the MCBF team, armed with a gaggle of Sea Monkeys, headed to Platt Fields Park in Fallowfield for the 2014 Manchester Mega Mela.
After setting up the story-telling tent, the MCBF volunteers took the Sea Monkeys to visit various organisations around the festival, including the Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, St John’s Ambulance, Commonword and Wafa Relief.
The Sea Monkeys were also on hand to give out MCBF branded balloons, stickers and bookmarks to excited children at the Mela. They even had time to catch the giant snake charmer and a few of the performers of the day.

A fun-filled day was had by all, and the glorious summer weather made it all the more enjoyable.
Catch the MCBF team at the Trafford Centre on Sunday 22nd June where we will be making Sea Monkey masks and Seawigs with little ones all day in The Orient.
