Poetry Together New Resources: Getting Started

By Martin Kratz

This is just a quick guide to help get you started. How are you going to decide who starts? Are you taking it in turns to write your poem? Are you writing your parts separately then bringing them together? We’d love to hear your stories about how you write your poems. In the run-up to the competition deadline, the Manchester Children’s Book Festival team will be posting a series of blogs including interviews with entrants on how they wrote their poems as well as conversations with poets on collaborations. The blog will also feature guest posts and more ideas on how to write your poems.
Not that you seem to have had any difficulties getting started! Entries have been flying in from all over the country (some just down the road here in Manchester), as well as Brazil, India and Pakistan. In fact, if you would like to share with us how you wrote your poem, or would like to write a blog for us, get in touch! You can email us via PoetryTogether@mmu.ac.uk

In the meantime, we look forward to seeing the entries pour in…
