Celebrate an afternoon of Irish heritage for all the family at Manchester Central Library on March 18.
The event will showcase Irish traditions, through music, dance, workshops, archives and craft sessions.
We’ll be running workshops exploring classic Irish folklore from across the ages throughout the day.
The Fianna Phadraig Pipeband will be performing during the afternoon and holding workshops to introduce families to pipes and drums as well.
The Irish World Heritage Centre will be there on the day with a stall promoting their venue, events and activities.
Louise Keegan, one of the original founding members of Young, Gifted & Green, an award-winning troupe of Irish musicians, singers and dancers, will be attending with her dance group, The Keegan Academy of Irish Dancing.
Archives+ will also be attending with their collection of virtual archives displaying images from Young, Gifted and Green, Mayo Manchester Tradfest and more.
The entire event will be completely free, and there’s no need to book.
The Manchester Children’s Book Festival have plenty more dates up their sleeve throughout the year. Make sure the FREE Family Fun Day taking place on June 24 is in your diary!
